Hotel Zena, a Viceroy Urban Retreat

This past weekend my husband and I stayed for our 1 year anniversary, this was our first time staying here. We were really impressed. The room we had was beautiful and the views were amazing. The staff was so nice and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. When they found out it was our anniversary they came up to the room with a gift for us which was so nice and appreciated. The next day Matthew wanted to continue celebrating us and gave us some mimosas. The whole weekend was a vibe and so nice. We will definitely be back to stay again.

I visited this hotel for the purpose of attending a women's local vendor market. Once I saw where it is I was surprised, realizing how close it is to nearby venues I tend to frequent in the perimeter of Franklin Square park. The event was on the ground lobby level. It was well situated as upon entering the hotel I couldn't distinguish where the vendor market began compared to the standard hotel operation as they were set up surrounding the hotel bar. I found it had an elevated yet inviting feel. One of the vendors included a feature of champagne samples that can be purchased direct through the hotel. Upon leaving, I was near the festive tree and check-in desk where within the showcase are several various high heeled shoes - displayed a nostalgic, yet trendy touch. I was asked by staff if I needed any sort of assistance. I didn't, but was able to try a seasonal beverage set up in a pitcher next to the desk. It was a very nice spiced cider. Although I wasn't staying at the hotel, I was still treated with a notable level of productive attention and customer service was offered.

I always enjoy my stay at Hotel Zena and exclusively will stay there now when I make my frequent travels to DC. I received a complimentary upgrade upon arriving but when there was a little issue with the heat in my room, I was switched to another great room next door in a matter of minutes and saw the maintenance crew resolving the issue for the next guest immediately. The customer service is so kind and the ambience and aesthetic of the hotel really made me feel like I wasn't alone this Christmas and I'm so thankful to have a go-to hotel moving forward. Side note - the kitchen wasn't open during my recent stay, but I've had both their breakfast and dinner from the restaurant Figleaf during previous stays and they have always been delicious and large portions for a reasonable price! I look forward to my next work trip and the opportunity to stay here again. It is clear they have the system running smoothly and down to a science amongst their staff and still find the time to make each of their guests feel so special whenever I would pass by.
